Official Attempt for the Guinness World Records – OFFICIAL PRESS CONFERENCE

The GPN Association is pleased to announce the official press conference for the presentation of the event dedicated to the Guinness World Records.

The press conference will be held at the café “Via Roma Lounge Coffee”, located on Via Roma, opposite the Town Hall of Sant’Antonio Abate, on June 15 at 11:00 a.m..

The meeting will be an important opportunity to illustrate the details of the initiative, its objectives, and the participation procedures for what is expected to be a major event for the entire community.

More than fifty associations involved and over one hundred pizza makers from all over the world. These are the numbers behind the event “The Guinness Record of Solidarity”, organized by GPN – Neapolitan Pizza & Food Association. A race against time on one side and a mission of solidarity on the other: part of the pizzas will be donated to volunteer organizations and third‑sector entities, which will deliver them to hospitals, shelters, and directly to people facing difficult situations.

The others will be available to citizens and visitors, who will have the opportunity to follow the challenge step by step. The pizza makers will take turns in a true “pizza relay,” where technique, speed, and coordination will be essential to achieve the Guinness World Records title. The initiative supports the Fondazione Santobono Pausilipon.

In addition to the support of the Mayor of Sant’Antonio Abate, Ilaria Abagnale, Vincenzo Pagano of Scatti di Gusto, Alessandro Condurro of L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele, and Antonio Starita of Pizzeria Starita, the event will also be attended by the General Director of the Fondazione Santobono Pausilipon, Flavia Matrisciano, along with many sponsors.

Over the years, it has gathered support from European and non‑European pizza makers, all driven by the goal of protecting pizza as a culinary heritage that, from its birthplace, has been exported across the globe, becoming a universally loved product.

The Project

The event “Il Guinness della solidarietà” was created with an objective that is both ambitious and deeply symbolic: to set a new world record by preparing 12,000 pizzas in a single work session, transforming a daily and culturally iconic Italian gesture into a powerful tool of sharing and concrete support. This is not merely a numerical challenge, but an initiative that brings together tradition, professionalism, and a spirit of solidarity, involving pizza makers from all over the world, united by their membership in the promoting association and by their desire to contribute to a social cause of great value.

The beating heart of the event will be Piazza della Libertà, which will be transformed into a large open‑air workshop for the occasion. Numerous stands equipped with professional ovens, workstations, and ingredient‑preparation areas will be set up. The pizza makers will take turns in an organized and continuous rhythm, creating a true “pizza relay”, where technique, speed, and coordination will be essential to achieving the record. The public will be able to watch every stage of the process up close, experiencing an immersive celebration of the art of pizza in all its forms.

One of the most meaningful aspects of the event concerns the destination of the pizzas produced. The vast majority will be donated to volunteer associations and third‑sector organizations, which will handle distribution to the most vulnerable individuals. The pizzas will be delivered to hospitals, shelters, and directly to people facing hardship, such as the homeless, individuals with disabilities, or families in socio‑economic difficulty. In this way, the record becomes a tangible act of solidarity, capable of generating an immediate impact on the community.

At the same time, a portion of the pizzas will be offered to citizens and visitors, who will have access to a dedicated food area set up for the event. This space will not only serve as a refreshment point but also as a place of gathering and sharing, where the public can feel like an integral part of the initiative, helping to create an atmosphere of celebration and collective participation.

The event will be enriched by the presence of personalities from the entertainment world, well‑known figures, and institutional representatives, whose participation will help give visibility and prestige to the initiative. Their presence will serve as an important vehicle for raising awareness, amplifying the message of solidarity and attracting media attention at both national and international levels.

Equally essential is the official recognition of the record attempt, ensured by its registration with Guinness World Records. Official judges from the London headquarters will supervise the entire operation, verifying compliance with all criteria required for the certification of the record. Their presence will lend rigor and credibility to the undertaking, elevating the event to one of global significance.
